Freeride Weekend in Dolomites – The Dolomites are a wonderful mountain range located in northern Italy with Venice to the South and Innsbruck to the North.The Dolomites are very well known to climbers and alpinists for their iconic peaks of solid limestone, but the Dolomites also offer the greatest off-piste skiing terrain to the east of the Alps. The Fassa valley is a world famous ski resort where you can find the most beautiful mountains 0f the world Sass Pordoi – Sella- Marmolada. Between the amazing white peaks of the Dolomites are hidden some of the most impressive couloirs and off-piste ski runs for you to discover.The Dolomites are full of Italian charm – deep forests, old stone chalets and the famously hospitable Italian lifestyle make this a fantastic place to visit – not to mention the incredible ski area!While it is difficult to promise perfect virgin powder snow (although we will do our best to find it!) we can promise delicious Italian food, excellent coffee and magnificent scenery!

Programma dettagliato

We will go to the Marmolada side, known as the “Queen of the Dolomites”, at 3343m Marmolada is the highest peak of the Dolomites.The mountain is topped by a long ridge, from where you can see Venice on a clear day.We will go up to the highest point at Punta Rocca from where there is an excellent off-piste ski descent of more than 1000m to Lago di Fedaia, a beautiful mountain lake at 2000m above sea level.

A 3 minute trip with the cable car will take us to the top of Saas Pordoi, where beautiful ski descents awaits us into the heart of the Group of Sella. We will then ride down one of the many unspoiled runs of this paradise to finish deep inside a pine forest, before skiing the slopes of Val Fassa.

We are the Alta Fassa Guides, the leading group of Alpine Guides of Val di Fassa, based at the historic House of the Alpine Guides in Campitello.

The House of Alpine Guides was buit in the 70s and it has been created and built by the hands of many mountain guides, first of all Carlo Platter and many others as Almo Gianbisi, Silvio Riz, Renzo Fave Luciano Ploner, Corrado Riz, and Lodovico Vaia. We have decided to restore it and reopen it to the public with the aim to share with you an important part of our history and culture.

We are here to make your holiday special by offering the best outdoor experience that you can find in Val di Fassa.

In the summer we organize many activity as hiking, trekking, climbing and vie ferrate. In winter season, we offer snowshoes, ski mountaineering, ice climbing and many other activities for adults and for children.

"Ciao Quest'estate seguendo le orme di mio padre, assiduo frequentatore delle montagne fassane, ho deciso d'intraprendere una scalata sul Sella.Mi ha sempre parlato della storica casa delle guide di Campitello di Fassa e quindi incuriosita sono passata a trovarli.L'ospitalità delle guide e la magia che tale struttura emanava, rispecchiavano in toto i racconti del babbo.Le emozioni che si vivono lassù sono qualcosa di unico e solo provandole si ha la consapevolezza di cosa vuol dire libertà ad un passo dal cielo. Un grazie di cuore a tutte le guide Alta Fassa guides, casa delle guide Campitello,che ogni giorno regalano emozioni.
