Descrizione

The Cima Sternai is the highest of the Val Saent and it divides the latter from the Val d’Ultimo. The ascent requires some workout but the panoramas that offer the summit are really impressive. This climbing route has been equipped and marked and is the most convenient, safe and interesting route leading to the Cima Sternai. From the starting point we climb up to the beautiful Saènt waterfalls and from there, the Rifugio Dorigoni, which will host us for the night. Next morning, from the Rifugio Dorigoni we follow the path leading to the first Sternai pond (2596 m). Crossed the emissary, we follow the signs to the Sternai Lakes. After some grassy slopes we turn right just over the falls and we reach the Vedretta di Sternai that rises diagonally up to the Bocchetta at 3114 m. From here, we continue on the crest ogoing around the base of the summit pyramid. The final stretch, equipped with ferrata kit for the insurance, has short passages on rock of the 2nd UIAA grade.

Programma dettagliato

Day 1 – Saturday
Meeting time: 07 am at our office, transfer to the parking lot of the Al Molin Restaurant in Val di Rabbi, ascent to Saènt Falls and then to Dorigoni Rif. (2497 m).
Day 2 – Sunday
Climb to CIMA STERNAI and then descent.
Expected return: 5 pm

The Gruppo Guide Alpine “Val di Sole” (Val di Sole’s Mountain Guides Team) was born in 1982 from a group of friend, all mountain-lovers, who decided to gather under a single “shield” all the Guide which were living in the valley.

Along the years there have been several changing among the team, and many have been the improvement from that first year. This website is our last news in terms of contacting people.

Hiking on the mountains, at any altitude, in any season, is the best way to discover the real heart of the mountains. This intense emotion must be felt in silence, in the middle of empty spaces, feeling free in front of wide horizons. Walking, hiking, climbing or skiing: in any case, it is a long way to find what nature has to offer you. A step-by-step path which can be made easier by the leading of an expert such as a Mountain Guide.

The leading of a mountain guide from the Val di Sole valley can really be what you are looking for: their experience, together with their knowledge of their native places, will give you much more than a simple guidance. It will be a fulfilling experience, because while you simply walk in the middle of nature, the guide will give you so many insight about history, people, places and so on that you will sure come back with a profound experience. Moreover, you will discover secret spots and places that only the guides are aware of, while being safe at any moment.
